I’m Jim Skyrms. I help people think more clearly through intense, thoughtful, and practical conversations. I believe in the power of thinking together.
I’m a catalyst. Things tend to change when I’m around. Usually things get better.
I design small businesses and educational experiences.
I start conversations through writing, speaking, teaching, coaching, and face-to-face meetings. I work with individuals, groups, and organizations.
And I just love to play the blues.
I started my first business at the age of 14. I’ve gotten around a bit since then, working as a milkman, a consultant to the European Union, an injection press operator and rector of an international university in The Netherlands. I’ve built batteries in a factory in Freeport, Illinois, and run workshops for entrepreneurs in Prishtina, Kosovo.
I’ve usually had a small business somewhere in the mix.
I’ve been pretty successful, but I’ve had my failures, too. Along the way, I’ve figured out how to listen to people and help them figure out where they want to go and the best way to get there.
I have my share of evangelists; I have critics as well. I don’t know yet which you might be. Get in touch with me and maybe we’ll find out. I’ll be happy to talk about almost anything.
